Gynecomastia Surgery for Men
Gynecomastia or male boobs refers to enlargement of breasts in male similar to that of females.In patients with significant gland tissue or if it is too firm then it needs to be removed by open excision.
It may be due to enlargement of glandular tissue or fat accumulation. It can vary from small amounts of tissue to well-developed breasts like in females. It commonly occurs during puberty or could be drug-induced. It is a common cause of embarrassment for young males.
Gynecomastia surgery for men includes liposuction or open gland excision or most commonly a combination of both. This depends on whether the condition is mainly fatty, mainly glandular, or a combination of both.
Liposuction is always performed as part of the surgical treatment to remove the excess breast fat and shred the gland tissue.

The excess loose skin after the surgery is usually allowed to shrink as much as possible using compression garment support.
Recovery period.Quick recovery time.Slight discomfort and soreness in chest for 3-4 days.Can get back to regular cardio exercises in a week, and strenuous exercises in two weeks time.Compression garment to be worn for 4-6 weeks.
